Maria Chiara Di Cianni
Università di Pisa- student at the faculty of General Medicine at UGD
How would you describe your Erasmus experience at UGD?
My Erasmus at UGD has been one of the best experiences in my life. I had the chance to meet people from different parts of Europe, to spend time with them and to learn as much as possible from their cultures. I also had the opportunity to meet qualified teachers and doctors and I will always be grateful for it. I’m happy that I chose Macedonia as my Erasmus destination, Macedonian people are very friendly and kind and above all they are really welcoming, especially with foreign people like us.
What was your best moment of the whole exchange?
It’s impossible to choose just one moment. I really enjoyed the events that the Erasmus coordinators organized for us, like the Welcome ceremony or the Intercultural night. I will never forget the moments spent with the other Erasmus guys, and also the trips that I did around Macedonia and in other countries in the East of Europe.
Do you think your exchange can be useful for you in your future working life? In what way?
I study General Medicine and so I did a lot of clinical practice at the hospital in Stip. I have been very lucky because I’ve had the great opportunity to meet and work with some American doctors, that every semester come in Stip for teaching, thanks to a project that connects UGD with other Universities in the U.S.A.
They are amazing doctors and teachers, I really loved their teaching method. When I worked with them in the hospital, I never got bored or tired, because they let me love Medicine more than anyone ever did.
This is the first reason why my exchange in Stip will be really useful in my future as a doctor.
The second reason is that during my exchange I had the opportunity to confront myself with other Medicine students from different parts of Europe and I learnt a lot from them.
